My most accomplished goal this year is publishing my very first online course!
I never thought I'd publish it this soon. For months I've been working on ideas for some workshops but I kept delaying the idea itself. Then came Ramadan and I couldn't do anything. Yet, an opportunity to teach online came up to me when I wasn't expecting it at all.
I worked on this project for about two weeks including preparations, shooting, and editing. And it's already published in Skillshare.
The duration of this course is 16 minutes only. It was supposed to be 21 minutes but I cut it down and fastened the process at some parts. And I chose to teach two different patterns which are lace and gold swirls. I explained the materials I usually use and where views could find them.
The following is a breakdown for this online course: 1. Introduction. 2. Materials. 3. Painting a sketch. 4. Lace Pattern 5. Embellishment (optional) 6. Gold Swirls 7. Class Project 8. Final Thoughts.
Yep, there is a homework for you too. Prior to publishing the course I uploaded a 1-minute intro video on YouTube:
As for the course itself, if you click on link below, you'll get 3 months of Skillshare Premium for only $0.99 for unlimited access to this and thousands of online classes: skl.sh/1sM20yL.
And I'm offering 5 free enrollment links but they'll expire on June 30th: skl.sh/291ubjq
Again, this is a short course of 16 minutes. And this definitely will not be my last class. You can follow me on twitter, instagram, and snapchat for any updates. And you can also watch my designs and illustrating process in my social accounts too.
Since I didn't get to draw and paint the sketch I used in the video, I may upload a short clip of the process soon. Also, I'd like to talk more about the materials I use for painting and may as well record another video and upload it on YouTube.
After few weeks of lack of motivation and creativity, I returned with a huge amount of energy and ideas. I just hope I continue innovating for the next couple of months before taking a short break. This time, I'm focusing a little bit on mugs. I bought some permanent markers to draw and write on white ceramic mugs with different sizes.
As soon as I think of a specific design I immediately implement it on the mug. Even if the idea is too simple I still feel that implementing it is much better than keeping it away and feel less confident to share it with others. Also, improving requires a lot of practice.
I used my inkjet printer to create a quick and easy gift wrapping paper. Instead of printing on a plain white paper I chose Ivory Parchment Paper. Its texture and ivory color gives a better result than the normal white paper. I was looking for something different and that's why I went with this.
Before printing, I took a moment to look at my own patterns. It'd been two since I started creating patterns and sold them so I have a huge library with many patterns to choose from. However, there is a specific style and color I was looking for.
Choosing the suitable patterns, I printed them and cut off the white borders (if there is any). Then, I brought my small box and wrapped it with the printed A4 paper. Since it was a small box I didn't need bigger paper. When I was done, I decorated with a white paper (I just cut a stripe from the white paper and wrapped it around the wrapping paper) and a metallic blue and gold ribbon.
And this is the way to wrap a small gift box quickly at home!
Since yesterday I was thinking of posting new pictures on my # instagram account but couldn't find a good idea then. When I woke up this morning I had no clue on what I should do. Should I create a new design? Or take some shots with my Nikon camera? Even so, I was determined to do something.
That was when a simple thought crossed my mind. I was fiddling yesterday with some box templates and printed a quick one. After I was done, I cut it and closed the box. It looked really cute especially that I used pink for the design itself.
And this was the outcome of today's simple photo shoot.
Since today's experience was successful to me, I will continue doing the same routine everyday.
If you guys have any comment, suggestion, or advice don't hesitate to let me know.
Hi all! This is my very first feature journal ever. I'm excited about it and thrilled to feature really good artists and share their wonderful work with you all. For now I'll pick random artworks and add them to this journal, but in the future I might work on some interesting themes. And to be fair with everyone, I won't feature the same art piece twice. This will give more chances for a lot of people to be part of this feature journal.
This feature is called 'Random Awesomeness'. Kindly, favorite and comment on this journal.
